The declarative sentence
Declarative Sentences are used to form statements. Declarative sentences
consist of a subject and a predicate. Example:
My name is Tom.
In the above sentence, the subject is "my name" and the predicate is
"is Tom".
The subject may be a simple subject or a compound subject.
A simple subject consists of a noun phrase or a nominative personal
pronoun. Example:
1. His success is great.
2. The book with read cover is mine.
Compound subjects are formed by combining several simple subjects with
conjunctions. Example:
1. Tom and I went to school together yesterday.
